I’ve been spending some time recently getting a better handle on how AI is actually showing up in marketing. This week I completed the AI+ Marketing certification through AI CERTs® Like most people in marketing right now, I’ve been experimenting with different tools and trying to understand where AI genuinely helps and where it doesn’t. What this course has me realise is that the real opportunity isn’t just using AI to produce more and more content. It’s thinking more carefully about systems, workflows, how marketing work actually gets done, and most importantly the ethics we need to consider when using these tools. I’m really excited to start putting the learning into action and trying some of these tools and ideas in the work we’re doing.

A new AI certification was announced last week. Curiosity got the better of me… so I completed it. The AI-Enabled Coordinated Assurance Certificate Program by The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in partnership with . Yes - one more badge for the LinkedIn profile 🙂 But the ideas behind it matter much more. A few takeaways from the program that resonated with me: • Coordinated assurance is becoming essential. Breaking silos across audit, risk, compliance, and technology improves risk coverage and reduces duplication. • AI can help connect the Three Lines. Shared risk insights and AI-enabled dashboards can significantly enhance collaboration across assurance providers. • AI-enabled assurance mapping helps identify overlaps and gaps, allowing organizations to deploy assurance resources where they matter most. • Human judgment remains central. AI augments professional skepticism - it doesn’t replace it. The big takeaway for me: The future of assurance will be human-driven and technology-powered. At The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) Internal Audit, continuous learning and upskilling are core to how we evolve as a function - and I’m proud to be part of that journey.
